Delete your data
How to request deletion, what is erased and what has to be kept by law.
Last updated:
How to request it
1.1. Deletion is requested from the Account settings, using the delete account option.
1.2. The request means the Account is deactivated immediately and access to it ends.
1.3. Erasure of the associated personal data is completed within the period set out in the Privacy Policy.
1.4. There is no need to write to anyone or to give a reason.
Identity verification
2.1. The request requires identity verification at the time it is carried out, using the access method the account holder has set up.
2.2. This requirement exists in order to establish ownership of the Account and to prevent a third party from requesting the deletion of someone else’s Account.
If you cannot access your account
3.1. Account access does not require a password: it is done with a one-time code sent to the registered email address or with the device passkey.
3.2. Where the account holder cannot access the Account by either of those means, they may write to the address given at the end of this page in order to recover access and submit the request.
3.3. Where access was set up through an external identity provider, the deletion request follows the same procedure. Revoking the authorisation given to that provider does not delete the Account, which continues to exist until deletion is requested as set out here.
Scope of the erasure
4.1. The erasure covers the Account, the profile and the personal data associated with the account holder’s activity on the Platform.
4.2. Closing the Account closes the Causes created by the account holder.
4.3. Once the erasure is complete, Causfy retains no means of identifying the account holder or of contacting them.
What is not erased
5.1. Data that must be kept to comply with a legal obligation or to bring, exercise or defend claims is excepted from erasure. Such data is blocked: kept out of all use and available only to courts and competent authorities, for as long as those liabilities may be pursued.
5.2. This includes records of financial transactions, whose retention periods appear in the Privacy Policy.
5.3. The permanent entry linked to a Signature cannot be erased. That entry contains no personal data and identifies no one, so its permanence does not affect the signatory’s right to erasure.
5.4. The signatory may withdraw their Signature at any time, and it is then excluded from the count, regardless of whether their Account is closed.
